Teacher Terms & Conditions

Effective date: [Effective Date]

These terms set the standards every MakRew teacher agrees to: class quality, punctuality, cancellations, conduct and how the engagement works. They form part of your offer letter, together with the Payout Policy and Teacher Code of Conduct.

1. Nature of the engagement

  1. You teach on MakRew as an independent professional. Nothing here makes you an employee, partner or agent of MakRew.
  2. You control how you teach within MakRew's quality standards, and you may take other work.
  3. MakRew finds and manages learners, collects payments, provides the platform and pays you per completed session.

2. Class standards

StandardWhat it means
Personalised planSet goals with each learner in the first session and record them in the dashboard within 24 hours
Structured sessionsWarm-up or recap, main teaching, practice, and a clear take-home task
Session notesAdd notes and the next steps after every session, within 12 hours
Progress reportsShare a progress report every [8] sessions or monthly, whichever comes first
Teaching setupLaptop/desktop with camera at eye level, headphones or good mic, stable internet of [10 Mbps]+, good lighting, plain uncluttered background, backup (phone hotspot)
LanguageTeach in the language agreed with the learner; be clear and patient
Fitness classesReview the readiness form before class, offer modifications, stop if a learner is at risk
Quality barMaintain an average rating of [4.5/5]+ and a learner retention rate of [70%]+ after the review period

3. Punctuality and attendance

  1. Join the session room at least 5 minutes before start time, set up and ready.
  2. Teach the full scheduled length. If a learner joins late, the session still ends on time.
  3. If a learner hasn't joined after 10 minutes, report it with the Learner no-show button under the class on your dashboard, with a screenshot of the empty class window. MakRew also checks Google Meet's attendance after each class. You are paid for a learner no-show that MakRew confirms or that Google Meet shows (you in the room 15 minutes or more, the learner never joined).
  4. Joining more than 10 minutes late counts as a teacher no-show. Join the Google Meet room signed in with the Google account in your profile, under your own name, so MakRew can see you attended.

4. Availability and cancellations

  1. Keep your availability calendar current at least [2 weeks] ahead. Booked slots are commitments.
  2. Block leave in the dashboard at least [7 days] ahead where possible.
Teacher actionConsequence
Propose a new time 12 hours+ before start (via the dashboard)No penalty. Your first 2 requests for the same class go straight to the learner; from the 3rd, MakRew approves first
Cancel (untick the class, or Can't teach)The class is unpaid and the learner keeps the session; every 2 cancellations in a learner's plan give the learner a bonus session, which isn't paid
Emergency change less than 12 hours before startAllowed once per 12 sessions of the learner's plan (with Emergency or Can't teach); the class is unpaid
No-show (or 10+ minutes late), confirmed by MakRewUnpaid; the learner gets the session back and 1 bonus session; counts as 1 no-show
3 late cancellations or 2 no-shows in 30 daysWritten warning and paused new bookings for [14 days]
Repeat after warningReview of engagement; may end

Genuine emergencies (illness with proof, bereavement, natural disaster, regional outage) are not penalised; tell support as early as possible.

5. Conduct

You agree to follow the Teacher Code of Conduct at all times. Child-safety rules apply to every session with a learner under 18.

6. Non-solicitation and platform use

  1. Teach MakRew learners only through makrew.live, during your engagement and for 12 months after your last session with that learner.
  2. Don't share personal phone numbers, email, social handles or payment details with learners, or accept direct payments or gifts above ₹[500].
  3. Breach of this clause leads to immediate termination and recovery of the fees MakRew lost, as a genuine pre-estimate of loss, of [3 months] of that learner's plan value.

7. Content and intellectual property

  1. Material you create independently stays yours. You grant MakRew a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it within your MakRew classes and to keep it available to your learners for their revision.
  2. Material MakRew provides (curriculum, worksheets, templates, branding) belongs to MakRew and may be used only for MakRew classes.
  3. Profile content (name, photo, bio, intro video) may be used by MakRew to market your classes during the engagement; we remove it within 30 days after it ends.
  4. You must not use copyrighted music, texts or videos in a way that infringes others' rights.

8. Confidentiality and data

Learner information is confidential. Use it only to teach, never store it outside the platform, never screenshot or photograph learners (the only exception is a screenshot of the empty class window to report a learner no-show), and report any data leak to career@makrew.live within 24 hours. Recordings stay on the platform and cannot be downloaded.

9. Reviews and quality checks

MakRew may review session recordings, learner feedback and attendance data for quality and safety. You'll receive a monthly quality summary and can respond to any complaint before a decision is taken.

When MakRew switches session recording on, your classes are recorded by Google Meet and kept for the period in the Privacy Policy (30 days at present). Your learners can watch and download the recordings of their own classes; you can watch the recordings of your classes in your dashboard but not download them. You agree to your classes being recorded on these terms. When safety checks are on, classes are also transcribed, and transcripts are checked automatically for phone numbers, social handles, contact details and abusive language; MakRew's team reviews anything flagged. Sharing personal contact details with learners is not allowed (see Section 6).

10. Ending the engagement

  1. Either side may end the engagement with [30] days' written notice. Booked sessions within the notice period must be completed.
  2. MakRew may end it immediately for serious misconduct, child-safety breaches, fraud, solicitation of learners or repeated no-shows.
  3. Fees for completed sessions are paid in the next payout cycle, less any deductions under these terms.

11. Liability and indemnity

You are responsible for safe teaching practice and for your own taxes and statutory registrations. You agree to compensate MakRew for losses caused by your breach of these terms, misconduct or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Changes, law and disputes

MakRew may update these terms with 15 days' notice by email. Continuing to teach after that means you accept the change. These terms are governed by the laws of India; disputes go first to good-faith discussion, then to the courts at Bengaluru.

I have read and accept these Teacher Terms & Conditions.
