Terms of Service for Learners

These Terms are the agreement between you and MakRew ("MakRew", "we", "us") for using makrew.live and booking classes. By creating an account, booking a session or paying for a plan, you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

1. Who we are

MakRew is an online personalised skill-development platform ("Skills That Make You More You") that connects learners with vetted teachers for live online sessions in fitness and wellness (yoga, pilates, zumba), music (Hindustani classical vocal, western vocal, guitar, ukulele, piano) and languages (English, German, Telugu), and any skills we add later.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  1. You must be 18 or older to create an account and pay on your own.
  2. Learners under 18 may take classes only through an account created and managed by a parent or lawful guardian, who accepts these Terms on the child's behalf. See the Child Safety & Parental Consent Policy.
  3. Give accurate details (name, email, phone, age, time zone) and keep them updated.
  4. Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once at info@makrew.live if you suspect misuse.
  5. One account per learner. Sharing a plan or account with another person is not allowed unless the plan says it is a shared or family plan.

3. How MakRew works

  1. Choose a skill. Browse skills and teacher profiles, or ask us to match you.
  2. First assessment session at a special price. Where offered, a first session helps you and the teacher set goals and level.
  3. Buy a plan. Plans are bundles of sessions with a set length, number of sessions and validity period. A plan is "unlocked" once payment succeeds and it appears in your dashboard.
  4. Book sessions. Book slots from your teacher's availability in your dashboard. All times show in your local time zone.
  5. Attend live. Join from your dashboard at the scheduled time using a laptop, tablet or phone with a stable internet connection.

4. Plans, prices and payment

  1. Prices are shown on the website before you pay, in your local currency, and include GST where applicable.
  2. Payment is taken in advance through our payment partners (cards, UPI, net banking, wallets and others shown at checkout). We do not store your full card details.
  3. Discounts and coupon codes are subject to their own conditions and cannot be combined unless stated.
  4. Each plan has a validity period, counted from payment and shown at purchase: 12 sessions in 4 months, 24 in 7, 36 in 10, 48 in 13 and 96 in 24. Sessions not used within validity expire, except as stated in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  5. We may change prices for future purchases. A price change never affects a plan you have already paid for.
  6. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may pause bookings until it is settled.

5. Booking, cancelling and rescheduling

Bookings, cancellations, reschedules, no-shows and refunds follow the Cancellation & Refund Policy. In short: cancel or reschedule free up to 12 hours before a class (with emergency changes inside that time, 1 per 12 sessions of a plan); plans can be cancelled from Scheduling ▸ Cancel plan. Cancel your plan any time before its last day: the unused balance is refunded.

6. Your teacher

  1. Teachers on MakRew are independent professionals who pass our screening, demo class and background checks.
  2. We try to keep you with the same teacher. If your teacher becomes unavailable, we will offer a suitable replacement or a refund of the unused sessions.
  3. You may ask for a teacher change at any time through your dashboard or info@makrew.live; we will do our best to arrange it within [X days].
  4. Stay on the platform. Please book, pay and attend MakRew classes only through makrew.live. Arranging paid lessons privately with a teacher you met through MakRew, for 12 months after your last MakRew session, is a breach of these Terms. It also removes the protection of our refund, safety and grievance processes.

7. Live sessions and recordings

  1. Sessions may be recorded so you can revise and so we can maintain quality and safety. You can see how recordings are used, stored and deleted in the Privacy Policy.
  2. When recording is on, you agree to it at checkout. You can watch and download the recordings of your own classes for your personal learning only. Do not share, post or sell them, or record a session yourself, without written permission from MakRew and the teacher.
  3. Join from a private, appropriate space, dressed suitably, with camera on where the skill needs it (for example, so a yoga teacher can correct posture).

8. Health and safety for fitness classes

Yoga, pilates, zumba and other movement classes carry a risk of injury. Before your first fitness class you must read and accept the Health, Fitness & Wellness Disclaimer and tell your teacher about any injury, pregnancy or medical condition that matters. Classes are not medical treatment or therapy.

9. Your conduct

You agree to follow the Learner Code of Conduct. In particular, you will not harass, abuse or threaten anyone; share sexual, violent or hateful content; impersonate others; attempt to hack, scrape or overload the platform; or use MakRew for anything illegal.

10. Content and intellectual property

  1. The makrew.live website, brand, logo, curriculum, worksheets, videos and other materials belong to MakRew or our teachers and licensors.
  2. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use class materials for your own learning while your account is active.
  3. Anything you upload (assignments, practice recordings, messages) stays yours. You give MakRew and your teacher a limited licence to use it to deliver and improve your classes. We will not use it in marketing without your separate written consent.
  4. Reviews and testimonials you post must be honest and your own. We may display them on the platform with your first name and city.

11. Suspension and closing your account

  1. You can close your account at any time from settings or by writing to info@makrew.live. Unused sessions are refunded only as set out in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  2. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these Terms, unsafe behaviour, fraud, non-payment or a legal requirement. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and explain why.

12. Our responsibilities and their limits

  1. We will take reasonable care to screen teachers, keep the platform running and protect your data.
  2. We do not promise a particular result (such as a grade, exam pass, fluency level, weight change or performance outcome). Progress depends on practice and many factors outside our control.
  3. The platform may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of internet, power or third-party failures. If a session is lost because of a fault on our side, we will restore the session credit.
  4. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a plan is limited to the amount you paid for that plan. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with its date and, for important changes, email you at least 7 days before they apply. Plans you already bought continue on the Terms that applied when you bought them, unless a change is required by law.

14. Complaints and disputes

  1. Contact info@makrew.live first. If you are not satisfied, write to our Grievance Officer at legal@makrew.live. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days (see the Grievance Redressal Policy).
  2. You may also approach the National Consumer Helpline (1915) or a Consumer Commission.
  3. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights as a consumer, courts at Bengaluru have jurisdiction.
